Being hosted in Las Vegas, Heat Holders truly went global, and was one of the 36 products recognised as being one of the most successful brands around. Celebrating our innovation and successful socks, we were delighted to be a part of the awards.

Hand picked by retailers (who know what will sell and what won't!) we have been spurred on, and aim to continue keeping the world warm!

Chelsea Flower

The RHS Chelsea Show is celebrating its 100th anniversary at the 2013 show. Running from 21 May to 25 May, the show will be truly magnificent, showcasing some of the best landscaping and design around, as well as beautiful plants (both old and new) beside a stunning story of evolution of the show through an exhibition in pictures.

After attending the wonderful event, and returning home with a head full of ideas and new plants, it would be a shame to not be able to get into the garden due to the awful weather we are being subjected to.

With Heat Holders thermal socks however, we are proud to keep Britain warm with our socks which are 5 times warmer than ordinary socks, with a toasty tog rating of 2.34, extra heavy bulk yarn and an intense brushing process which means our socks hold more warm air close to the skin, Heat Holders are a gardening essential.

Banish those winter chills while planting your new plants with Heat Holders on your feet. We promise you will never go back to ordinary socks!

Embrace the Mud with Heat Holders

Festival Season is well and truly taking off this May, but with the likes of Glastonbury, Download, V and T in the Park yet to come, the season of mud, cider and chilly summer nights has a long way to go.

Glastonbury is probably one of the most famous festivals around, taking place on a Somerset Farm, and being notorious for its ridiculous presence of mud, Heat Holders aim to keep the mud at bay and bare legs warm during those chilly summer nights.

Our thermal socks have a tog rating of a toasty 2.3, and come in various colours and styles; long length socks, wellington socks, slipper socks, the list goes on. The range also boasts thermal underwear with a tog rating of 0.45 for those who really do feel the cold. With so many options for keeping warm, there really is no reason for being cold at your favourite festivals.

Keeping Britain warm is our aim…especially during the festival season!

It's that time again…Raving Reviews!

Our Heat Holder garments recently visited the chilly climates of Iceland with the editor of the North American magazine, 'Good Ski Guide'.

Visiting the country to research its skiing credentials, we decided it would be cruel of us if we didn't make sure Pietro Simonetti kept nice and toasty warm whilst out and about conducting his research!

So, we decided to send him some of our socks and thermal underwear to make sure he kept warm.

Upon his return to America, we kindly received a review from Pietro about our garments. We won't give the game away, but let's just say we were all very happy!

Wellie Socks, a Festival Essential

The Festival Season is coming around fast. With smaller festivals becoming more and more popular, the season is no longer restricted to the summer months of June, July and August. Rather, festivals are now starting as early as April.

With the Arc Festival taking place in Bristol on 27 April, Cheltenham's Jazz Festival 1 May and Masked Ball festival in west Cornwall on 4 May to name only a few, the British weather might not hold up for your weekend of fun.

If you are a festival lover, attendance can range from just one to countless weekends, with the festival fashion of bare legs, shorts and wellies still applicable, long socks are an essential. Not just to protect bare legs from the rubbing tendencies of wellies, but also to keep warm on those fun-filled nights.

Our wellie socks range are one of the best around, ensuring they have a turn-down top so to stop the socks from falling down and disappearing into the wellie. Boasting a tog rating of 2.3, and numerous colours to suit the most outrageous festival outfit, Heat Holders Wellington Boot Socks are perfect for completing that festival kit.

Heat Holders supports the Northampton Big Sleepout!

On the 1st February Northampton Hope centre, a dedicated homeless shelter, held their 5th annual sleep out to help raise awareness for the homeless. At St Giles Church, in Northampton Town Centre, 64 people braved the cold for the night, and spent 12 hours under the stars, with just sleeping bags and cardboard boxes. The volunteers soldiered on through the night, despite the rain and cold winds to support this excellent cause.

Here at Heat Holders we provided all the brave volunteers with a boxful of our ultimate thermal socks to keep their feet warm for the night, and these were gladly received by the 'sleepers'.

We were happy to support such a great cause which continues to provide a dedicated service to the homeless, supplying them with not only food and drink but also helping them develop vital life skills including cooking and IT skills. We hope that everyone can continue to support their great work.

Cycling for Teach: An Intercontinental road trip

'Teach' are an organisation that works for children in Africa, their name coming from the acronym form of the organisation's mission statement "Time to Empower Children in Africa". As part of a fundraising activity undertaken by Stu and Chris Marshall 'Cycling for Teach', Heat Holders provided the brothers with socks to wear whilst they completed their journey.

'Cycling for Teach' is a mission undertaken by the two brothers that saw them take some of the world's toughest terrain in a mission to raise as much money as possible for the charity. Heat Holders hoped to help the brother's as much as possible by providing them with warm and comfortable feet, no matter how cold it became on their journey.

One of the brave cyclists told us "But as I said, Heat Holders probably enabled us to walk away from this trip with all toes intact. I say this because for about 3 weeks we were subject to some of the coldest temperatures of our lives – Xinjiang in Winter experiences temperatures down to -30C, while rarely getting above -5C. And we were left vulnerable to these elements for a minimum of 10 hours-a-day, every day. Often, we'd also be camping in these temperatures too…"

Everyone at Heat Holders was delighted to congratulate Chris and Stu Marshall on their achievement and were pleased that our thermal socks helped them on their way to completing such a monumental journey, all for an excellent cause.

Operation Shoebox: Mission Successful!

At Heat Holders, we have donated fifty pairs of socks to the charity 'Operation Shoebox', an organisation that sends shoeboxes filled with gifts to British soldiers in Afghanistan. With winter temperatures plummeting to average temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius at night, we hope that the troops are a lot warmer and more comfortable with the help of Heat Holders.

Here at Heat Holders, we were so pleased to be able to offer the charity our socks to support Britain's soldiers serving in Afghanistan. With their advanced technology, 2.34 tog rating and extra-long looped pile, the socks should keep the troops' feet as warm as possible, despite dropping temperatures.

I know the soldiers will be extremely grateful, during the winter months the average night time temperature in winter is -10C. I also know that the soldiers out there will be overwhelmed by your Company's donation and the very thought that you have taken the time and trouble to think of them so far away from home, this gesture will undoubtedly raise morale out there and rest assured it is the support from people like you and your company that keeps the soldiers going – you will indeed be making many soldiers smile on receipt of your kind donation. -- Gill Greetham, Operation Shoebox UK

The organisation 'Operation Shoebox' was established in 2005 and since then, over 55,000 shoeboxes have been sent to Afghanistan with the cooperation of the Military of Defence. The charity's work has always been motivated by boosting moral for the hardworking soldiers, reminding that people are thinking about them at home and supporting them in their work.

The organisation is now nationwide, with 20 regional volunteers raising funds, awareness and collecting items to send to the troops. The boxes are sent to named soldiers and special containers are sent at Christmas so that all of the Christmas post and gifts are able to reach the soldiers safely.

Here at Heat Holders we are always so pleased to help charities give to those who need it most and we were thrilled to hear that we will be helping to boost the morale of hardworking British soldiers in Afghanistan, as well as keeping their feet as warm as possible.

Students can keep cold feet at bay

September means one thing for millions across the UK: Back to school. Whilst the little ones are kitted out in their new school uniforms to prepare them for the new term, it's the students that are left to return (or start!) university without such vital equipment. Everyone knows that student housing can be a little…basic and often this thrifty bunch decide to do without home comforts like central heating! This means that they often suffer from cold feet. Once again, it's Heat Holders to the rescue, banishing the misery of cold feet forever.

If you have loved ones going back to their studies, and know that they will be a bit on the chilly side you can pack them off with their very own pair of Heat Holders, a vital piece of student kit!

Available in a wide range of sizes, colours and even a striped range for women, there really is a pair for everyone to keep their toes warm in winter. Heat Holders have an extremely high tog rating of 2.3, meaning that they really can battle against low temperatures, or simply keep feet toasty for those that suffer with cold feet in most temperatures. Heat Holders' unique technology is a combination of a long looped pile, specially selected advanced insulating yarn and a super soft brushed inner for all-day comfort and warmth.

If the discomfort of cold feet isn't enough, there is also scientific proof that cold feet directly affects our mood, and even more importantly for those conscientious students, productivity levels. Heat Holders are the one of the main ingredients to ensure that students have the right recipe for success at university.

Make sure that the students you know have their student survival kit to hand when they go back to university. Top of the list should always be Heat Holders, the ultimate thermal sock.

Sock and Roll this Summer!

Thanks to the unpredictable weather of recent years, preparing for your top festival of choice often sees you reach for your umbrella rather than your bikini. Although we can't stop the rain, we can provide this year's festivals with a little more warmth, so relax and let Heat Holders guide you through a few festival essentials.

Heat Holders – the ultimate thermal socks
Make Heat Holders your headliner at this year's festivals. With their increased tog rating of 2.34, Heat Holders are seven times warmer than normal socks, meaning your feet will be warm and cosy, even if you're drenched in mud. The innovative and patent pending, long looped thermal pile, unique to Heat Holders, locks in warm air, holding this closer to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer. The soft brushed inner of the socks adds comfort and softness where feet need it the most. This comforting effect and the gentle grip of the socks also protects your feet from rubbing whilst walking up and down large festival sites, as well as dancing through the night.

Ear plugs
Although festivals tend to bring out our nocturnal side, at some point you may want to get a little shut eye. Whether this is during the night or a long mid morning nap, ear plugs will become your sleepy saviour. With the festivities continuing long into the early hours, lay back and drown out the noise as you prepare yourself for the day ahead.

Tent
Your choice of tent can make or break a festival. No one likes to be woken up in the early hours of the morning to find that half their tent has collapsed, and is now filling up with muddy rain water. Invest in a stronger, more durable tent and you will reap the benefits for festivals to come. Festival staff are usually on hand to help you construct and dismantle your tent, but it is always a good idea to have a practice run to ensure that no components are missing.

Wellies

Wettest April on record in England and Wales

Much of England and Wales has experienced flooding over this week, with further heavy rain predicted to continue to wreak havoc across the country. Weather reports suggest this is the wettest April since records began.

In the wet conditions, many people have been turning to Heat Holders to help keep their feet warm and dry in the conditions. A particular favourite to survive the April showers are the men's and ladies long socks, which are perfect when paired with wellington boots to keep feet warm and dry!

Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, which was devastated by flooding in July 2007, was on alert with the Environment Agency setting up an incident room there along with two others in the Midlands and another in the Wessex area.

The agency warned of localised flooding across parts of southern and eastern England, the Midlands and Wales, with a total of 31 flood warnings and 173 flood alerts in place on its website today.

A spokeswoman said: "It's not unusual to experience heavy downpours and some flooding - mainly of farmland - at this time of year, but we're continuing to closely monitor the forecast and rainfall particularly in areas along the rivers Severn, Teme and Avon, including Worcestershire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

"Environment Agency teams are out on the ground continuing a close watch on river levels as well as checking defences and clearing any potential blockages to reduce the risk of flooding."

Over a 24-hour period, police in Gloucestershire received more than 60 reports of trees down and localised flooding, and officers were called to help with a large tree that came down on the A417 near Cirencester.

With a tog rating of 2.34, Heat Holders provide a practical and economical alternative to layering socks. A TOG rating (Thermal Overall Grade) is a recognized measure of a textile's thermal ability. The higher the tog rating, the better the product is able to keep you warm. The unique patent pending extra long looped thermal pile which is unique to Heat Holders has been newly developed. This innovative knitting technology locks in warm air, holding this closer to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer. The soft brushed inner adds comfort and softness where feet need it most. Their gentle grip prevents rubbing or discomfort that may be experienced from a sock with a lower tog rating. Furthermore the advanced insulating yarn created for Heat Holders provides high performance insulation and superior moisture wicking abilities.

Flooding was also seen across Devon and Somerset, with incidents in Kingskerswell, Brixham, Paignton, Barnstaple, Nethercott, near Lydeard St Lawrence, Bickenhall and West Hatch.

The latest downpours came at the end of a particularly wet week for England and Wales, in which 42mm (1.7in) of rain fell in the South East and 55mm (2.2in) in the South West, which has now had 166% of the average rainfall for April.

Many areas at risk of floods are currently in a state of drought, which is gripping the South East, East Anglia, the Midlands, the South West and south and east Yorkshire after two unusually dry winters in a row.

The UK Gripped By Epic Premiership Contest

Football fans are in for a treat this evening as they sit down to a classic Premiership derby of epic proportions. Top two teams Manchester United and Manchester City will face each other in the contest which is being billed as a title decider.

United travel to Etihad Stadium with a three-point lead over their neighbours, but have an inferior goal difference, so City could edge ahead of their ultimate rivals with a victory. Meanwhile, Utd will be desperate to gain revenge for the result the last time the two clubs met in the league, when City won 6-1 at Old Trafford.

Whichever way you look at it, with only two games remaining, this is a crucial game with massive pressure on either side. City regained a sense of momentum in the race with a 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend as United drew 4-4 with Everton.

Expert commentators believe that this contest is set to be one of the most exciting and dramatic ever, with both teams knowing that they will need to play aggressively to be in with a chance. But while the action will be hot, the weather is set to be pretty chilly, with much of England and Wales gripped by April showers.

Whether you are watching the game in the stands, or at home on the sofa, Heat Holders can help to ensure that you can watch the action in warmth and comfort.

Brace yourselves for some unpredictable weather this winter with Heat Holders

It has been a year that has seen weather patterns turned upside down. In 2011, Britain had one of the finest springs on record, followed by one of our worst-ever summers. And according to the Met Office there is more to come.

At least, that is the message from forecasters and meteorologists who are studying the ups and downs of the British weather. The strange patterns of rain, wind and sunshine that have swept the nation reveal a fundamental truth. Jet streams and ocean currents are ensuring Britain's weather is some of the most changeable on Earth.

Helen Chivers, a forecaster at the Met Office explained why British weather forecasters often get it wrong: "We are a small island, in a temperate climate, at a high latitude with one of the world's biggest oceans on one side, and a huge continent on the other. The combination makes it very difficult to predict the weather here. We can do it in the short term but not over long periods."

So as winter sets in, there's one thing we can be sure of; temperatures are already below average for the time of year and they are likely to plummet over the next few months. With low night-time temperatures predicted for October, there's a chance of upcoming frosts for England and Wales; so it's time to start making preparations and raising awareness amongst the most vulnerable and elderly people in our society. And making those cold winter months a little more bearable could be as simple as choosing the right pair of socks.

Long term exposure to cold conditions can have a detrimental impact on our health, and the most effective way to keep warm and maintain a normal body temperature is to keep our hands and feet warm.

The science behind Heat Holders' promise to make cold feet a thing of the past is simple. Heat Holders have extreme thermal qualities and are seven times warmer than normal cotton socks, with a tog rating of 2.34. The unique patent pending extra long looped thermal pile which is unique to Heat Holders has been newly developed. This innovative knitting technology locks in warm air, holding this closer to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer.

The soft brushed inner adds comfort and softness where feet need it the most. Their gentle grip prevents rubbing or discomfort that may be experienced from a sock with a lower tog rating. Furthermore the advanced insulating yarn created for Heat Holders provides high performance insulation and superior moisture wicking abilities. Hard wearing and machine washable, they are perfect for children as well as adults and the elderly.

Cold feet are not only uncomfortable but also cause a reduction in mobility and a decrease in sensation which can lead to trips and falls, especially in the elderly and infirm. So to avoid accidents and stay extra toasty this winter, Heat Holders thermal slipper socks with anti-slip sole are prefect for use around the home – even on slippery wooden and tiled flooring. You can even wear them in bed to help you drift off to sleep on those chilly winter nights.

Take a step out of the cold this winter with Heat Holders Ultimate Thermal Socks. Available in men's, women's and children's sizes, they are an affordable investment with prices starting at just £7.99, £5 for children, and are a great idea for Christmas stocking fillers!

If you've got your feet covered, why not try Heat Holders new extension ranges: thermal underwear, leggings, tights, hats, gorgeous and fashionable wellie socks as well as gloves are all now available!

Warm feet means swift sleep

Are you one of millions of people who go to bed at night with cold feet? Dr Kurt Krauchi and his team at the Sleep Laboratory in Basel, Switzerland, believe poor blood flow may be impairing your ability to fall asleep.

Our body temperature naturally lowers at night when blood pressure and general body functions slow down. As circulation slows, blood is drawn from our extremities to the centre of the body, inhibiting the free flow of blood and preventing the sleep hormone Melatonin from kicking in.

As a result of the study, researchers have suggested that increasing the temperature of your feet promotes circulation and blood flow throughout the body, prompting the release of Melatonin and therefore, inducing sleep. They suggest this method of inducing sleep is particularly useful for those who suffer from sleep disorders as a result of old age or illness as this is often caused by poor circulation.

Seven times warmer than your average cotton sock, Heat Holders have extreme thermal qualities and with a massive tog rating of 2.34, keep your feet fully insulated with a specially developed yarn. The unique patent pending extra long looped thermal pile which is unique to Heat Holders has been newly developed for added warmth. This innovative knitting technology locks in warm air, holding this closer to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer.

Heat Holders extensive range also includes slipper socks, which have a non slip grip on the sole to prevent you from sliding on slippery surfaces around the home – perfect for tip toeing to bed on those cold winter nights.

Heat Holders are perfect for a variety of outdoor activities, to keep toes warm in the biting cold, as well as for those people who just suffer from cold feet. Available in a variety of different colours, Heat Holders provide a fashionable and functional choice of warm winter wear for both men and women. Children's sizes are now available, and Heat Holders' socky success has spawned a variation of extension ranges including Graham Bell Ski Socks, Wellie Socks, Leggings, Tights and Thermal Underwear which will be available to buy soon.

Heat Holders were created by top hosiery company Drew Brady, owned by the enterprising Ruia Group. Drew Brady is recognised as one of the largest importers of socks in the UK and has become expert in distributing and exporting worldwide. Established in the 1950's, the expert textile importers have been designing and importing socks for over 60 years, including the brands Pringle, Elle, Kickers, Jeep and the recent acquisition of Sock Shop in 2006.

Heat Holders hope to show the US why their warming socks have caused such a buzz in the UK and are sure that the American market will be just as excited to finally Say No To Cold Feet!

Promote good foot health with Heat Holders thermal socks

If you spend a lot of time outdoors, good foot health is essential. Keeping your feet pain free and comfortable all day could be as simple as choosing the right pair of socks.
One mistake people make is to assume natural fibre socks are the best footwear to use to keep feet warm and cosy, however, years of research, together with the development of modern fabrics and materials have exploded this myth.

Without the ability to wick moisture away, natural fibres such as cotton, absorb perspiration from your feet and hold this moisture next to the skin. As a result the natural fibre loses its resilience and any protective capacity it had when it was dry, creating an unforgiving surface which can lead to blisters, chafing and other foot problems. The dark, warm and moist environment created by natural fibre socks also becomes a breeding ground for bacteria, promoting odour and disease.

By contrast, Heat Holders socks are 91% acrylic, a man-made cushion fabric which wicks away perspiration from your skin, keeping feet dry in all conditions. This not only helps the socks to maintain their resilience and protective characteristics but also creates a natural, healthy and forgiving environment for your feet.

Heat Holders also have extreme thermal qualities and with an increased tog rating of 2.34, keeping feet fully insulated with a specially developed advanced insulating yarn which provides high performance insulation and superior moisture wicking abilites. The unique patent pending extra long looped thermal pile on offer from Heat Holders socks has been newly developed.

For optimal outdoor protection and comfort choose Heat Holders – the ultimate thermal sock.

Entrepreneur climbs Kilimanjaro with the help of Heat Holders

Last month, entrepreneur James Blick, owner of the Finesse Collection, a group of boutique hotels in the East Midlands, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money for The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. James and his team battled the elements and struggled against the effects of high altitude during their 7 day trek.

Hotelier James, whose empire includes the Lace Market Hotel in Nottingham and the Cathedral Quarter Hotel in Derby, adds his recent expedition to his long list of philanthropic ventures. Before Kilimanjaro, James completed a 300 mile charity bike challenge across France and England also for The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. James' current donations figure stands £7,250 so he's close to reaching his £10,000 target.

The phenomenal mountain journey tested the team both physically and mentally. They kept their spirits high with songs and games but combating the cold proved to be a little trickier…

James and his team layered their clothes to keep warm in the harsh conditions but it was a certain piece of kit which proved to be a vital tool in the fight against the frost. Heat Holders ultimate thermal socks became essentials for James and his team throughout their 55km uphill excursion.

When you are trudging up a mountain for a week in the freezing cold warm feet are a fundamental must. Luckily, James and his team made sure they had packed several pairs of Heat Holders before their expedition. Seven times warmer than the average cotton sock Heat Holders are a cost way to warm cold feet. The tog rating of 2.34 and the intense brushing process each sock undergoes combines perfectly to hold warm air close to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer. The long pile cushioning adds comfort and support where you need it most and the patent pending long loops trap air, keep toes toasty.

James says,

"I'd like to say how impressed I was with the Heat Holders Simon and I used on our adventure. They were truly an integral part of my kit, keeping us warm in the freezing conditions. Since returning (and after giving them a good wash!) I am still using Heat Holders at home. I am off to a charity shooting day next week – with the weather as it is I shall be packing the socks for this too; just one problem, my wife keeps stealing them!"

Sock and Roll this Summer...

Thanks to the unpredictable British weather, the summer months have become the season that make Cagoules and Wellies fashionable. The clothes that were once forced upon us as children have now become staple attire for any of the UK's biggest festivals. Although we can't stop the rain, we can provide this year's festivals with a little more warmth, so relax and let Heat Holders guide you through a few festival essentials.

Heat Holders' ultimate thermal socks
Make Heat Holders your headliner at this year's festivals. With their increased tog rating of 2.34, Heat Holders are seven times warmer than normal socks, meaning your feet will be warm and cosy, even if the rest of you is drenched in mud. Each sock goes through an intense brushing process to hold air closer to your feet, thus insulating and cushioning them for longer. This comforting effect also protects your feet from rubbing whilst walking up and down large festival sites, as well as dancing through the night. Last year's festival trend of bright socks under wellies with shorts is set for a comeback – ensure you're ahead of the crowd with various gorgeous colours on offer fromHeat Holders! – Check out the range, including Purple, Rose, Fuschia and Red on the Products Pages, here: http://www.heatholders.com/products.asp.

Invest in a stronger, more durable tent and you will reap the benefits for festivals tocome. Festival staff are usually on hand to help you construct and dismantle your tent, but it is always a good idea to have a practice run toensure that no components are missing.

Wellies
When you're up to your ankles in mud, wellies become one of the greatest inventions known to man. Thanks to numerous colours and styles, wellies have become one of the most popular trends to hit festival campsites. Why not accessorise your wellies with a pair of long Heat Holders, insulating your feet from the cold, and cushioning your toes as you dance and splash in the mud.

Baby wipes
Any festival goer will tell you that three days in, baby wipes become a personal shower in a packet. Whether you go for glamorous festival chic or like to sport a slightly less hygienic rustic look, baby wipes are an essential item, and will make you, and those around you feel a lot more comfortable.

Heat Holders' Bed Socks
Once the tents have come down and the bands have packed away, your Heat Holders' bed socks will be the perfect companion and treat your feet to a little R&R as you recover athome. With their non slip pads and cushioning effect they are perfect for lounging round the house as your recount your festival memories.

Don't put your foot in it this Father's Day

The day where socks, ties, cufflinks and belts aplenty sit patiently disguised in wrapping paper will soon be upon us. This 19th June, sons and daughters across the country will be desperately trying to solve the age old question; what do you buy the man that has everything?

This Father's Day, show your dad how much you care with Heat Holders ultimate thermal socks, a practical present that fits any interest or hobby. With an increased tog rating of 2.34, Heat Holders are seven times warmer than normal socks. These socks are just the thing for the active dad who loves outdoor sports such as skiing, shooting, hunting, camping or fishing as well as when dads are watching their favourite sports. Whether they are stood in a professional ground or watching you play in your local team, with Heat Holders they will be wrapped up warm and toasty!

Heat Holders also come in a range of colours including red, grey, forest green and navy and are available in various different lengths and styles to ensure fathers stay stylish and warm.

Those fathers who love walking will not only benefit from the warmth that Heat Holders offer, but the intense brushing process on the inside of the socks, combined with the thickness of the yarn, provides a cushioning for feet against tight boots.

Fathers whose careers involve working in cold environments such as construction, the armed forces, drivers or fishermen, will greatly benefit from these socks. Having cold feet can limit mobility, causing fatigue at work which may lead to lapses in concentration and accidents which could have been avoided. We all know that feet being left cold for long periods of time can cause serious problems, not to mention that cold toes are painful and unpleasant!

Heat Holders are also perfect for a dad whose tootsies just refuse to stay warm when he's relaxing on the sofa after a hard day! Grandfathers can also benefit from these socks as they are not only soft and cushioning, but Heat Holders' slipper range has extra grip to prevent falling at home.

With an RRP of only £7.99 Heat Holders are a fantastic way to show your Dad how much you care this Father's day. Don't leave your dad's feet out in the cold; treat him to something he can use again and again for both his work and leisure life. Heat Holders support Disability Snowsport UK's third National Skiathon to raise money for disabled skiers.

Disability Snowsport UK's third National Skiathon took place on Tuesday 17th May 2011 at all 6 UK indoor ski and snowboarding centres and Heat Holders were there lending a warming hand to the charity!

For over 30 years, Disability Snowsport UK has worked to bring people living with disabilities the chance to experience the thrill and joy of skiing alongside, and on an equal basis with, able-bodied helpers. The charity aims to enhance quality of life for disabled people through fitness, mobility, freedom, social interaction and independence. It is also an opportunity to identify and nurture potential athletes and help disabled people to conquer the barriers that confront them in daily life.

'6' was very much the key number for the event as skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities were invited to take part in teams of 6, alongside the British Disabled Ski Team (BDST), as well as an exciting collection of Britain's top freestylers and celebrities. Winner of the first ever Big Brother, Celebrity DIY expert and Heat Holders ambassador Craig Phillips joined former 5 times Olympic skier Graham Bell, ambassador for Heat Holders Ski Socks, on the slopes to support the charity and, of course, wore their intensely warming Heat Holders socks.

There were fun and frolics on the slopes as teams were challenged to ski or board 666 runs of their chosen indoor ski slope in 6 hours in an attempt to raise £35,000 for Disability Snowsport UK. There were also prizes for the team who raised the most sponsorship money and for the team who completed the most runs in the allocated time.

There was no need to be a top flight skier or snowboarder - quizzes and games gave everyone a chance to win extra runs for their team. Each participant also received a goodie bag which included a T-shirt and pair of Heat Holders socks as a memento of a great day out raising money to help bring joy and excitement to many people living with disabilities throughout the UK.

Seven times warmer than your average cotton sock, Heat Holders have extreme thermal qualities and with a massive tog rating of 2.34, keep your feet fully insulated with a specially developed extra heavy bulk yarn. The inside of each sock has been intensively brushed, giving them a sensationally soft feel, while holding more warm air close to the skin keeping your feet warmer for longer. The long, patent pending looping that goes into the construction of each and every pair of Heat Holders helps to trap air tight inside the socks, making them intensely warm. With long pile cushioning and a gentle calf grip, these thermal socks not only help keep feet comfortable but supported too.

Don't let the Coalition Cut Comprise Comfort!

Last month we all tuned in to hear the government announce this year's budget. Many of us were not surprised to hear the long list of cuts on public services however one cut which was not widely reported was the reduction of financial help to the "warm home discount" initiative.

The "warm home discount" initiative provides money off energy bills for vulnerable customers. The worst effected by this cut will undoubtedly be the elderly with under 80s losing up to £50 and the over 80s losing up to £100.

With this and the unpredictable frosty British weather in mind Heat Holders Ultimate Thermal Socks seem like the perfect money-saving foot-warming solution to the 55% of us who went cold at some point last year to save on bills.

Research shows that keeping the extremities warm stops heat escaping and consequently ensuring that the entire body stays warmer for longer. This makes Heat Holders suitable for anybody who likes to stay cosy and comfy about the house.

Apart from feeling cosy warm feet can actually be beneficial to your overall health. Frozen feet are not only uncomfortable but also cause a reduction in mobility and a decrease in sensation which can lead to trips and falls. So to avoid accidents and stay extra toasty this winter why not get hold of a pair of anti slip Heat Holders?

The science behind Heat Holders promise, to make cold feet a thing of the past is simple. With a tog rating of 2.34, each sock goes through an intense brushing process which holds air closer to the skin, providing snug insulation. Heat Holders use advanced knitting technology to construct their extra long loop which, when combined with the yarn and the brushing process, ensures that feet stay warmer for longer!

Heat Holders were highly commended by the publication, Waterways World even commented that they would be perfect for presents even after Christmas:

'Did you get all the socks you wanted at Christmas? If not we've heard good reports from several boaters of a new type of insulated sock called Heat Holders from SockShop. These have what they claim is a unique three stage insulation process, with a very high tog rating of 2.34. This is achieved by holding as much insulating warm air in the fabric as possible.

A specially developed construction and an intense 'brushing' process of the fabric is designed to help it trap much more warm air close to the skin, compared with a normal thermal sock. The insulation is said to be equivalent to more than seven times typical cotton socks – without the bulk of wearing seven socks. Using the same material and principles, Heat Holders now also offer gloves and hats.'

Heat Holders re-appoints Ambassador in the form of Big Brother Star…

Craig Phillips, the first ever winner of reality TV phenomenon Big Brother and star of BBC’s 60 Minute Makeover has been re-commissioned as the ambassador for Heat Holders Ultimate Thermal Socks for a second year.

Heat Holders are made from a unique yarn construction with a tog rating of 2.34, ensuring that feet stay warm even in the coldest of conditions. Craig was chosen by Sock Shop to represent this fantastic brand due to his association with the outdoors and in particular the building and construction industry, which often sees him working in cold and challenging climates. As sole ambassador in 2010, Craig saw sales of Heat Holders rocket to over 3 million pairs of socks sold this winter.

Craig loves his Heat Holders because of their warmth, heat retention and comfort, created by a patent applied for knitting technique which forms unique extra long loops of yarn, holding air closer to the foot. Having cold feet can limit mobility, causing fatigue at work, which can lead to lapses in concentration and accidents.

The Liverpudlian said:

“I am delighted to be associated with such a great product, I have worn these religiously since I was handed my first pair and I would definitely recommend them to anyone, especially if you are outdoors a lot of the time!”

Craig is a keen skier, snowboarder and rambler, and is therefore well aware of the importance of tog value with thermally insulated products. Heat Holders’ increased tog rating is seven times warmer than normal socks. Each sock goes through an intense brushing process, creating long loops of extra heavy bulk yarn, which provides cushioning for feet and insulation, whether you’re a keen walker, an expert diver or just want a little warmth these socks are perfect for any occasion. That is the beauty and strength of the product; they are perfect for anyone with cold feet!

As Heat Holders supports charity Centrepoint, an organisation providing emergency accommodation, support, information and training for homeless young people in London, Craig put his Heat Holders to the test for Centrepoint’s Big Sleep Out 2010. This event saw 450 people braving the freezing November weather to spend a night on the streets of London in order to raise money for Centrepoint. This annual event not only raises vital funds for the charity, but highlights the extent of the youth homelessness that still exists in Britain. Craig and the Heat Holders team were on hand during the night, selling the restless sleepers pairs Heat Holders the entire proceeds of which were donated to Centrepoint.

Heat Holders also supported the charity online, donating 50p from every pair sold on the Sockshop website during the month of November to Centrepoint, raising over £5,000 for this fantastic cause.

Craig will continue to promote the Heat Holder range all over the country, showcasing the many styles, lengths and colours on offer for men, women and children. This year Craig will be joined by two more celebrity ambassadors, Presenter of BBC’s Ski Sunday Graham Bell, and ITV weather presenter, Emma Jesson.

This year, invest in a versatile product you can use time and time again. Do not let your feet suffer as you head out into the cold British weather. To ensure protection from the cold and prevent sore feet, wrap up your feet in Heat Holders ultimate thermal socks.

Heat Holders is proud to announce two new ambassadors to join Craig Phillips…

Heat Holders is proud to announce the acquisition of two new celebrity ambassadors, former five time Olympic skier turned TV Presenter Graham Bell Graham and ITV weather girl, Emma Jesson! The two new ambassadors join Celebrity DIY expert and first ever winner of Big Brother, Craig Phillips as endorsees for the ultimate thermal socks. The ultimate thermal sock, Heat Holders are made from a unique yarn construction with a tog rating of 2.34, ensuring that feet stay warm even in the coldest of conditions!

Heat Holders have been created to combat the age old problem of cold feet, whether you are pursuing outdoor activities, working within a cold climate, have health issues, or simply to provide you with that extra cosy comfort throughout the cold winter months.

Craig was chosen especially by Sock Shop to represent this fantastic brand due to his association with the outdoors and in particular the building and construction industry, which often sees him working in cold and challenging climates. As the host of BBC One’s ‘60 minute makeover’ and a construction entrepreneur, Craig was amazed with the incredibly warm and comfortable Heat Holders and commented;,

“I’m very impressed with Heat Holders warmth and heat retention in cold & wintry weather conditions, as well as their comfort and practicality on site. They are great, not only for use on building site environments, but also other day to day use for leisure activities, winter and extreme sports.”

Craig is now joined by two new celebrity faces who love their Heat Holders as much as him! As a TV presenter and weather girl, Emma Jesson’s profession has taken her to some brutal climates. As the founder of sporting service Racing Weather, Emma is used to braving the cold in all weathers and at all times of the day, and with her Heat Holders, she is ready for anything! Emma says of Heat Holders,

“I love everything about Heat Holders. Every tiny fibre has been thoroughly thought out with the end user in mind, from the fit, to the special shaping of the sock, to the gentle calf grip. I love the snugly yet contemporary aesthetics of the sock. I actually can’t get enough of them; I wear the longer socks around the house and love the non-slip grip slipper sock. They really give the wearer exactly what they want from a sock.

Heat Holders really do come weather girl recommended!"

Graham Bell, who will be representing Heat Holders’ new Ski Sock range is the face of the BBC’s Ski Sunday as well as a successful commentator and sporting pundit. He knows the dangers of getting too cold:

"I have spent a lot of time in very cold winter conditions and had the misfortune to personally experience frostbite, hypothermia and chillblains on various occasions - not pleasant. Cold strikes your extremities, and the first rule of survival in cold climates is to look after your feet.”

Since trying his first pair of Heat Holders, Graham has been impressed with Heat Holders’ warmth and durability on the slopes stating that they are especially important when combating the cold:

“Heat Holders take thermal socks to another level, allowing you to work, travel, survive and enjoy being outside in the snow."

Pike and Predator’s Neville Fickling reviews
The Ultimate Thermal Sock

Neville’s humorous review of Heat Holders appears in the January 2011 edition of Pike and Predator, his review below:

“Once upon a time the term ‘cold feet’ was a phrase used to describe someone with a lack of moral fibre, a coward, but in case, I really do have cold feet – and I fear nothing and no-one!

Solving the cold feet problem is something I am constantly trying to do. When a pair of Heat Holders arrived I was more than happy to give them a try. I know there is not much that anyone could possibly say about socks, but these were very warm, very comfortably and not inclined to slide down inside my boots or chest waders. I will certainly buy some more when I’m near a SockShop.’

Heat Holders heat up Scotland

The EXTRA Series of Newspapers in Scotland held a competition for readers to win an ultra warming pair of Heat Holders to combat the freezing temperatures up North.

Colin McDonald of The Glasgow EXTRA series raved about the socks in this competition ,with his article saying:

‘ The best thing about the severe weather has been discovering – and road testing- a pair of the ultimate thermal socks. Heat Holders from SockShop have an increased tog rating of 2.3, which makes them seven times warmer than normal cotton socks. The intense brushing process each sock have been through holds warm air close to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer.

Long pile cushioning adds comfort and support where feet need it the most. Their gently grip prevents rubbing or discomfort. Heat Holders proved ideal for wear with wellies or walking boots (there’s an all-weather tip we’re also happy to share with serious outdoor types bagging Scotland’s 283 Munros or trekking the west highland way) when having to trudge through snow and ice, and hang about chilly city streets waiting hopefully for buses and trains.

Fashionable and functional they also provide a one sock practical and economical alternative to wearing two or more pairs of socks at once to trap that extra layer of air. As more than a few folk will have found over recent weeks, exposure to cold conditions can not only have detrimental effects on feet and toes especially, but also affect overall health.

The EXTRA series gave a lucky 32 readers the chance to win ultra warm Heat Holders for these cold, cold months.

The snow is set to return: warm up this winter with Heat Holders – December 2010

Cold British winters seem to have become as much a part of English culture as receiving socks for Christmas. But what was once an embarrassing stereotype has seemed to have become a worrying statistic. The coldest winter on record took over last year and it seems sure to be back this year. With the MET Office predicting freezing temperatures again for the Christmas break, it’s looking like time to wrap up warm once again!

Normally, British winds come from the west, keeping our winters relatively mild. However, during the last few years, a large area of high pressure has developed in the Atlantic, causing a 'block' to the westerly winds that tend to keep us that little bit milder. This has allowed very cold Arctic air to move south across mainland Europe, causing large amounts of snow and ice.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not a force modern technology can change or manipulate. However, with a little bit of sock science, Heat Holders ultimate thermal socks can make these cold months more bearable, and care for your feet all winter long.

We need to keep warm all winter long and the extremities are the best place to start, as, if hands and feet are warm, the rest of the body stays warmer for longer.

Heat Holders are diverse, fashionable socks that keep your feet seven times warmer than normal cotton socks. With an increased tog rating of 2.34, Heat Holders go through an intense brushing process to insure air is held closer to your feet, thus providing longer lasting insulation. Failing to keep warm in these freezing conditions could potentially have detrimental effects, not only to our feet, but to our overall health.

Cold temperatures are said to be one of the main causes of sleep deprivation. Warmth is essential to the release of the sleep hormone melatonin. With our winters getting progressively colder we may fall victim to a very icy insomnia. Colder weather not only makes it harder to fall asleep, but also to get out of bed in the morning. Heat Holders not only aid you in drifting off but make your winter mornings that little bit warmer.

The age old joke about getting socks for Christmas becomes a practical solution to enjoying a happier and warmer winter. For the fathers who have everything, and mothers who don’t want anything, Heat Holders provide a credible alternative to the traditional Christmas stocking filler. Available in a range of colours and sizes these socks are perfect for the entire family. Children’s sizes are now also available, allowing you to relax in the knowledge that your little one’s feet are protected from Jack Frost.

The intense heat on offer from Heat Holders socks lead to huge demand for similar products to keep extremities warm in the cold weather. Heat Holders response was these incredibly warming products for your hands and your feet! Available from the beginning of December, the cold won’t be an issue anymore with Heat Holders gloves and hats. Their shower proof and breathable material with its fleecy lining will protect your fingers and head from the biting cold all year round.

With prices starting at the ultra reasonable £7.99, for socks and £10 for intensely warm hats and gloves, Heat Holders are certainly a perfect warming accessory. For range details and colours please visit: www.heatholders.com.

With the UK weather warnings, and the memory of last year’s Big Freeze across the country, now is the time to take action against the winter cold. Say no the cold with Heat Holders socks and now their hats and gloves too!

Warm and Toasty

Brrr. Just as the temperature is really dropping, we’ve got some good news for people who like warm feet. Heat holders socks have been tested to achieve a thermal tog rating of 2.34, which is pretty impressive! They kept my feet warm whilst kayaking in temperatures of 5 degrees off the Mull of Kintyre this weekend.

I was daft enough to take the boat to the water’s edge in trainers and got caught by a wave – wet feet right from the start. I debated changing but decided to test the socks wet, as they are pink and the alternative was to take them for a run through a bog, which seemed like cruelty to all things pink.

As well as wanting to see how they performed wet, I was very reluctant to take them off at all, as the extra long, brushed pile which provides the brilliant thermal properties really do give a luxuriously soft, cosy feel. And, as I’d hoped, once I was moving and warming up, so did the socks and my feet.

So, these really warm socks are great for anyone who goes out in the winter, whether it’s walking, running or building snowmen, and they are also great for elderly people whose circulation isn’t kept going by exercise.

The ones I tried are knee length and so great for wearing with wellies but they do come in a range of colours and sizes including kids’ sizes. With straight toes and no heels, they fit either foot and don’t seem to slip into uncomfortable ridges.

The RRP for a pair of Heat Holders starts at just £7.99. Please see the Sock Shop website at www.heatholders.com for range details, prices and where to purchase.

Heat Holders: the ultimate thermal socks

When temperatures fall, feet can be the first to suffer. Last winter we were at the mercy of the coldest winter weather in more than 30 years according to the UK Met Office, proving keeping feet warm more vital than ever. Ordinary thermal socks or wearing many pairs of socks will often let you down. To be confident in the cold, you need a sock with high insulation. Heat Holders have been tested to achieve a thermal tog rating of 2.34. Our unique 3 stage process using heavy bulk yarn, advanced knitting technology and intense brushing, holds more warm air close to the skin, ensuring your feet stay warmer for longer. Available from a range of leading nationwide stores from just £5.00 per pair.

Duvet covers for your feet?! Well Big Brother’s Craig Phillips loves them

I love the summer and HATE the winter. It’s not that I don’t like seeing crisp white snow layered upon every surface outdoors – I do. I just hate having to drag myself through the centimetres of thick snow and then arriving at work with freezing cold feet, of which, no matter how hard I try, do not get warm again!

So I was thrilled when Sock Shop contacted me in regards to their new range of Heat Holders thermal socks. I was told the socks can keep your feet seven times warmer than normal cotton socks. When I first heard this I was a little sceptical, but thought there was no harm in trying them.

The socks I tried both came in pretty pink girly colours, which I was very happy about, but the most interesting part is that they both have a tog rating of 2.34.

As soon as I slipped the socks onto my feet I was amazed. Honestly it is like wearing a foot duvet!
I have EVER come across socks that are so comfortable.

I know it’s not snowing everywhere – yet – but it has gotten quite cold these last few weeks, so I have worn the socks pretty much daily (when I have had boots on) to work. Whilst in the house, I haven’t even bothered to wear slippers, there is just no point when you have socks on which are that good!

A spokeswoman for SockShop said, “ Heat Holders provide a practical and economical alternative to layering socks. The intense brushing process each sock has been through holds warm air close to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer. The long pile cushioning adds comfort and support where feet need it the most. Their gentle grip prevents rubbing or discomfort that may be experienced from a sock with a lower tog rating.” She added: “ Heat Holders provide a perfect solution to the snow day blues. No longer will family snowball fights in the garden be plagued by cold feet.”

Available in a variety of different colours, Heat Holders, suitable for men, women and children start at around £4.99.

The socks are perfect and can be used time and time again. As they are so thick, my only criticism is that you cant wear them with certain boots and shoes – I couldn’t get my feet into one pair of boots the other day. But just do what I did, change your boots and be warm! With Christmas just weeks away, a pair of Heat Holders will make a brilliant stocking filler, so visit the Heat Holders website and get yours now.

Heat Holders team and Craig Phillips get to grips with the cold for Charity Centrepoint

The Heat Holders team braved the cold, along with Heat Holders ambassador Craig Phillips on the 11th November to raise money and awareness for Centrepoint’s Sleep Out 2010.

Centrepoint is the national charity helping homeless young people. Whether they have run away from neglect or abuse to sleep rough, or been thrown out at 16 to fend for themselves, homeless young people are vulnerable and need help. Centrepoint offers safe accommodation and a chance to turn things around with counselling, education and training. Centrepoint houses and supports 800 homeless young people between the ages of 16 and 25 every day. Despite working in this field since 1969 there is no doubt that this is the harshest economic environment they have ever faced.

This year’s Sleep took place at Old Spitalfields Market where 450 sleepers, including Craig Phillips and members of the Heat Holders team, along with Sara Cox and Lisa Maxwell banded together to show solidarity with some of the most marginalised people in society, raising almost £150,000 for the cause.

Warming Heat Holders were sold to participants on the night with all proceeds from this donated to Centrepoint. The month of November has also seen Heat Holders raising awareness for their official charity by donating 50p for every pair of Heat Holders sold online at www.heatholders.com to Centrepoint.

Heat Holders would like to extend a huge thank-you to everyone who donated, a huge thank-you to the team who participated in this event and a big congratulations for the money their efforts raised on the night!

Winter Warmers by Hayley Nolan

In the first of your essential weekly guides to a glamorous festive season, HAYLEY NOLAN looks into which brands are keeping us warm but looking cool!

The worst thing about the winter nights creeping in is the bitter cold that comes with it! So trust Cheryl Cole to lead the way, papped wearing a Muubaa leather jacket – this hot brand have an uber funky range of leather and sheepskin jackets that will ensure you have the X Factor this Christmas!

Keep warm underneath with Missguided’s stylish jumpers, complete with studded skulls and oversized knitted capes – definitely this season’s must have trend.  Speaking of which – if you want to be on trend this year without following the masses, steer clear of predictable Uggs and invest in a pair of Rocket Dog boots. So many to chose from and super snug, you won’t want to take them off come home time! Another discovery is the crazy and kooky knitted designs of Suzi Warren at Twisted Twee. Just check out her homemade Lover’s Gloves! One glove for you, a larger one for your other half - then a “central glove chamber” for you young lovers to hold hands! I love the whole bonkernosity of it all!

And if you want to carry that snuggling on into the cold winter nights, then turn to La Senza for some seriously sexy – but cute and cosy – bedtime wear! It’ll have you sipping mulled and vowing never to leave the sofa again – which is what Winter’s all about, isn’t it?!

Warm & Toasty

Winters coming so it’s time to think about keeping warm, we check out the new Heat Holders thermal socks.

When it’s cold the hardest things to keep warm are your feet. Quality boots help, but you also need a proper pair of socks to add comfort and protection. Heat Holders now offers an improved thermal design, that is rated at a TOG value of 2.34. By comparison your average thermal sock only gives 1.5 and a cotton design a mere 0.40.

The idea is to trap and hold as much air as possible within the fabric so you need something with a high insulation factor. The unique 3 stage insulating process uses heavy bulk yarn, advanced knitting technology and intense brushing to hold more warm air close to the skin, ensuring that feet stay warmer for longer! Just the thing for the active shooter.

The proof is in the pudding as they say and the Heat Holders seem to do exactly what it says on the tin. Just slipping a pair on gives immediate results; inside boots the soft and cushioned build offers high levels of comfort and the soft fit will not pinch into lower legs where the socks stop. Though not yet winter, early mornings and cold evenings out in the high seat soon proved their worth. They even offer a range of slippers with extra grip soles for around the house. Heat Holders are available at many outlets so contact them to see where.

CompassSport got to try out a pair and were rewarded with suitably toasty feet! In fact, putting on a brand new pair for the first time was likened to easing your feet into the softest and fluffiest of marshmallows – but without any stickiness. It was unbelievably soft. Such a feeling could well get addictive! The pair we tried were the standard £4.99 pair for size 6-11 feet. At that price I think many people should be tempted. The black and two tone grey stripes were fetching and it certainly felt my feet were well padded and insulated. Like a mini duvet for one’s feet.

The socks felt soft and did not have any of the protective abrasive panels of a sports sock and we would not recommend you go orienteering in them as we don’t think they won’t last very long. But these socks are not for running through brambles. Where this sock will come into its own is post race. Stick them on after you have finished your race and peeled off your saturated socks. Put on some dry shoes and feel the warmth. The socks will also be great for more leisurely pursuits, and kicking about in wintertime. A nice warming addition to your sock collection and a great Xmas present idea.

Socks to beat the cold this winter!

By Stephanie Carter

It's sad but it's true: it's getting colder.

Gone are the bright, sunny days we (mostly) enjoyed over the summer and in their place are... really dark, dank ones.

Plus, we're students and heating's expensive, so it's not even warm indoors!

For most of us, having cold feet is one of worse things when the temperature drops - it chills the rest of your body and means you can't get comfortable.

Heat Holders are seven times warmer than normal socks and are designed to keep your feet cushioned.

You can wear them around the house or, if you’re an active person, during sports, camping and walking.

Plus, if you’re a keen festival goer, they’d be brilliant for those cold, cold nights.

We at OMG tested a pair and we can safely say that they are comfortable, warm and cosy – perfect for winter.

Heat Holders are available from £4.99.

Given to Distracting Others Blog

Brrrr winter is certainly on its way, I am looking out on my garden, its windy, raining and my toes are cold.
I am hoping for the sake of my fuel bills, this years winter is not so bitter.
We still do try to get out for walks when we can as long as its not heavy rain. But last winter even with walking socks and a good pair of Asolo boots, I was still feeling the cold.

I often have a dilemma with socks, I get cold feet, but incredibly ratty if my feet overheat. I also have an aversion to woolly materials especially on my hands and toes, it sets my teeth on edge, so whereas most people wear wool to keep out the cold, it drives me bananas and I cannot abide it especially in socks that are then trapped in boots.

So for me choosing a good warm pair is often so limited I end up wearing cotton socks that really do not warm up my feet. Lets also face it grey tweed looking socks are not so trendy when wearing funky wellies as Paige does.
Its nice to have fashionable footwear down to your toes.

Heat Holder Thermal socks seem to have nailed it, and I was sent a couple of pairs to try out.

This is what Heat Holders say:

Heat Holders are diverse, fashionable socks that keep your feet seven times warmer than normal cotton socks. Long term exposure to cold conditions can not only have detrimental effects to your feet, but to your overall health. With a tog rating of 2.34, Heat Holders provide a practical and economical alternative to layering socks. The intense brushing process each sock has been through holds warm air close to the skin, keeping feet warmer for longer. The long pile cushioning adds comfort and support where feet need it the most. Their gentle grip prevents rubbing or discomfort that may be experienced from a sock with a lower tog rating. Heat Holders provide a perfect solution to the snow day blues. No longer will family snowball fights in the garden be plagued by cold feet.

Available in a variety of different colours Heat Holders provide a fashionable and functional choice of warm winter wear for both men and women. Children’s sizes will soon be on sale, allowing you to relax in the knowledge that your little one’s feet are protected from Jack Frost. Longer styles are available for the whole family, meaning you too can splash around in your wellies with the kids.

I was sent a pair of vivid fuchsia pink extra long socks that Paige snatched straight away and dug out her wellies. They were knee high and looked very funky peeking out of the top of her boots.

I was left with the Gentle Grip in red, when I say left with I was not unhappy at all. I read the back and was happy to see they were 91% acrylic, felt them first to check for my odd aversion. They did set my teeth a little, but the true test would be wearing them. Inside they are brushed; I was most relieved as they felt like fleece, soft and not making me want to hurl them away. We had the gruesome weather so Paige and I decided to go for a walk to the shop to test them in the raw. Despite them appearing incredibly thick they were light feeling and my boots fit with them comfortably.

After 15 minutes walking I was feeling hot, however we are only just into Autumn and I can see these being amazing in the minus 0 temperatures.

My Heat Holder socks also have Gentle Grip so I can wear them around the house without skidding on my wooden floors.

The range is large, there are men's and with the new children's selection soon to arrive a fab winter addition.
Prices start from £4.95.
Stockists are endless too, Wilkinsons, BHS, Matalan, CO Op, Sports Direct to name a few.

Craig supports Disability Snowsport Skiathon

The 18th of May saw indoor ski centre, Chill Factore host Manchester’s leg of the 2010 Disability Snowsport Skiathon. The skiathon travels around indoor ski centres across the country in order to raise both money and awareness for the worthwhile cause. Craig showed his support by taking part in this intense and demanding challenge which saw him tackling the longest indoor slope in the country.

Alongside the Combined Services Disabled Ski Team, the Ski Club of Manchester and football legend Mike Summerbee, Craig took to the slopes. Craig ensured he remained warm whilst on the slopes by wrapping up in warm clothing and donning a pair of Heat Holders ultimate thermal socks. Craig’s feet stayed wrapped up, toasty and comfortable throughout the entire day so that he could continue to have fun and promote the incredibly deserving charity.

Craig’s efforts on the day helped towards the £14,000 raised for the charity and event organisers were extremely pleased with how the event ran, commenting on how pleased they were to have Craig’s continued support, as well as his charming and enthusiastic outlook on the day. Disability Snowsport works throughout the UK, enabling those with disabilities to access snowsports as a means of therapy, social inclusion and life-enhancing activity. A spokesperson for the charity states that, “People taking part often tell us that snowsports have changed their lives, allowing them to overcome personal barriers and develop new skills for their everyday lives.”

BIG Brother TV celebrity Craig Phillips, a building and construction expert, showed he had lots of socks-appeal.

For the first ever winner of TV’s Big Brother series visited the offices of Bolton based hosiery company, Drew Brady, promoting thermal socks.

Phillips, who made television history as the first ever reality television show winner scooping the £70,000 prize, is the new face of Drew Brady’s latest success, Heat Holders.

Heat Holders are made from a unique yarn construction with a tog rating of 2.34, ensuring that feet stay warm in the coldest of conditions.

The Liverpudlian TV presenter was chosen by Drew Brady due to his association with the outdoors and in particular building and construction.

As the host of BBC One’s 60 Minute Makeover and a construction entrepreneur, Mr Phillips said: “I’m very impressed with Heat Holders warmth and heat retention in current weather conditions as well as their comfort and practicality on site.”

Drew Brady, one arm of the expanding Ruia group, employs around 80 people at Dove Mill, based in Bolton.

Established in the 1950’s, the textile importers have been designing and importing socks for more than 60 years, including the brands Pringle, Elle, Kickers, Jeep and the recent acquisition of Sock Shop in 2006.
