Taylor Swift proves she's the Queen of Pop!
Live from Las Vegas, the Billboard Music Awards were held on Sunday, May 17th to celebrate the year’s most popular chart-topping music.
The night belonged to the unstoppable Taylor Swift, who kicked off the evening with the premiere of her star-studded video, ‘Bad Blood’. She later managed to win 8 of her 14 nominations for her record-breaking, self-documented, ‘first ever pop album’, 1989. Beating off competition from the world’s biggest boyband, One Direction, Swift scooped the much coveted ‘Top Artist’ gong as well as ‘Top Country Artist’, ‘Top Touring Artist’, ‘Top Hot 100 Artist’ and ‘Top Female Artist’ to name a few!
Sensational divas Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea provided the night’s standout performance, with Britney wowing the audience in her sheer black cat-suit next to Iggy wearing a metallic two-piece.
Style icon Kendal Jenner rocked the understated look of the awards with an edgy, monochrome sweatshirt teamed with long black fashion boots.
A controversial end to the show saw Kanye West get loudly booed by the audience as he performed his typically ‘strong-worded’ lyrics.
Undoubtedly, the night was highlighted by girl-power… here’s to next year’s awards!
