A cup of coffee to warm other’s hearts
Small acts of kindness can make all the difference in the world, as the #OneForJames campaign shows.
In early 2015, James Bidgood tragically passed away in a snowmobile collision in Ontario, Canada. A loving and well-respected man of the community, he left behind his wife and two kids at the age of 35.
His best friend Jason Alexander decided to pay tribute to James by emulating his regular act of treating a stranger to a cup of coffee.
James’ tradition consisted of buying the next person in the drive-thru a coffee treat. Jason wanted to continue his friend’s kind-hearted legacy and expressed his idea to an employee at the local Tim Hortons restaurant. The server produced his order with a message that read “For James”, signed with a heart, and the #OneForJames campaign was born.
#OneForJames, which encourages people to continue James’ legacy, has since taken off on social media with thousands of likes on Facebook. Visit the webpage at https://www.facebook.com/oneforjames to learn more.
