Class donate school trip money to fellow student who lost his mom to cancer

All students live for school trips; it gets them out of the classroom and gives them opportunities to visit exciting places with their classmates.

The Bath Village School in New Hampshire each year take the fifth and sixth graders on a trip to Boston where they walk the Freedom Trail, ride the world-famous Duck Boats and enjoy a private tour of Fenway Park.

But recently something devastating happened to a first grader at the school– the young boy lost his mom to cancer. His world was turned upside down and understandably he was going through an extremely tough time. Wanting to show their support for their schoolmate, the fifth and sixth graders decided amongst themselves that the $1,500 they had raised for their much-anticipated Boston Trip was to be given to the young first grader.

The class’ story has recently gone viral and a member of public who felt touched by the story has spontaneously set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to allow the generous students to have the opportunity to go on their school trip. So far the page has reached $2,670 surpassing the $2,000 mark and the number is sure to increase as the story continues to travel around the country.
